Wow - another perfect perfect day ! But...let me not get ahead of myself.
Yesterday we went off to the Mossman Gorge again, to see the rainforest again, this time without the (torrential) rain. And what a worthwhile trip it was. The huge moss-covered boulders, the rapids, the fish in the swimming holes and then the amazing trees and rainforest vegetation. Just amazing ....real real magical hobbit country. The sunrays creeping through the trees and the sparkle on the river rapids. Such a peaceful and magically beautiful place.
The coastal road drive to Mossman Gorge was beautiful once again. This time we managed to stop along the sandbank and mangrove beach for some photos. There are just so many amazing photo opportunities, especially with the blue and pink tinged sky behind a rainforest covered tropical island surrounded by ink- blue still ocean. A moment to treasure...pity it can't be bottled !
Today we went out to the Reef again to snorkel and wow, it was even better than the first time. The visibility was even better, in some shallower areas, it looked clearer than in an aquarium. The details on the coral and the fish seem to be magnified. What an amazing experience. I am so proud of myself, when that 1.5m white-tipped reef-shark swam past me at armslength, and I did not scream or panic. Saw a nemo again and a turtle and just lots and lots of small and large reef fish. The coral formations and colours are overwhelming. Just before the end of our last snorkel we were so lucky to see Wally - a large Maori Wrasse . Awesome ! The Great Barrier Reef is definately one of the 7 Wonders of the World !!!!
