York We took the scenic route from Edinburgh to York - taking the coastal route. The Scottish Borders region is hilly and wooded. We made a short stop at Holy Island - Lindisfarne - a really interesting island - that is connected to the mainland at lowtide - and the road is completely under water when the tide comes in. Polmont - Edinburgh Met up with Maja, Bill and The Boys on the Anstruther coast on our drive from St Andrews to Polmont, near Edinburgh, where we were staying with Bill's mom. The mist blanketed the coastline and enhanced the grey - in - grey look, but lifted when we reached the other side of the Firth near Polmont.
