Wow - another perfect perfect day ! But...let me not get ahead of myself. Yesterday we went off to the Mossman Gorge again, to see the rainforest again, this time without the (torrential) rain. And what a worthwhile trip it was. The huge moss-covered boulders, the rapids, the fish in the swimming holes and then the amazing trees and rainforest vegetation. The last two days were exploring days. On Saturday we visited all the beaches north of Cairns before reaching Port Douglas and on Sunday we planned to drive all the way to Cape Tribulation. Our beach day was great...luckily the sun was out and we could really enjoy the views of all the beautiful beaches. The 6 beach towns/villages are not connected by a coastal road. One needs to access each of them separately from the Highway, so this turned into a whole day aff...

Cannot believe we are already on our last stop ...Cairns. We left Magnetic Island in the pouring rain and spent a few hours in the Reef Aquarium in Townsville to see what we missed seeing in the ocean ! Rather impressive and we are still hopeful that we will see it all au natural. The drive from Townsville to Cairns was uneventful, even in the driving rain. Miles and miles of sugar plantations.
