Today I combined my two biggest fears - heights and water... I went parasailing! I was so nervous and almost backed out at the last minute. Paul and I did a tandem parasail which cost us €60. I didn't think that was bad at all, considering you pay over $100NZ per person to parasail in Paihia. I spent the first two minutes being so frightened, but once I got over that I was a lot more relaxed. The view was amazing. At one point they let us down gently just so we dipped our feet into the water. At the end we splashed down into the water, unclipped ourselves from the parachute and were picked up by the boat pretty quickly. I was really pleased that I gave it a go, even though it pushed me out of my comfort zone. We spent the whole day out on George's boat - swimming, eating and doing the water sports. For lunch we had fresh bread, salad and seasoned hot chips. George is a big Greek guy that has been taking tourists out on his boat for over thirty years now. He's got a dirty sense of humour, but is completely harmless. His boat was a lot of fun. We bought t-shirts as a souvineer. When we got back to Corfu Village we had a few hours free before we had to go out again for our traditional Greek dinner and dance night. Although I've been enjoying our trip I've also mentioned that I haven't been feeling well. Today I've felt really miserable. My throat and ears are sore, I still have the chesty cough and my whole body aches so I've started taking the antibiotics tonight. I still got involved with some of the Greek dancing, but not as involved as I usually would have. The dinner was really good and there was heaps of food! Throughout the night there was ongoing entertainment, including a lot of traditional dancing. There was a lot of crowd involvement in the dancing too. We were all encouraged to get up and give it a go. There was also a potato challenge where you had to hold the potato between your forehead and your partners. Paul and I missed out on this one as we were outside when it started. I wasn't feeling up to being involved anyway. The lady then asked you to do different things while holding the potato e.g lie down on your stomach, roll over, bend down etc. When we got back to the Corfu Village Paul and I went up to our room and went to bed.
