A day on a train! Left Salzburg at 8 - train to Zurich easy peasy, second train to Visp not so easy - upstairs carriage and not much room! Third train (glacier express) to Zermatt very scenic as we went up through the mountains - much easier to get than we thought! Arrived at about 5.45!
Zermatt really pretty, view of the Matterhorn and lovely little place in the mountains. Checked into our hotel which was really nice - big room complete with balcony and view. Very friendly receptionist so felt very welcome. Wandered round the village in the evening, took many pictures and had dinner at a traditional Swiss restaurant- local wine sampled! First rose we'd had in a while!
