Day in Helsinki- very early start for ferry - Superstar! Arrived at 9.30 and took a scenic walk (not on purpose) for a few miles to reach market square! Went on a windy boat ride around the islands, visited senate square and two cathedrals, a nice chocolate cafe and a weird museum!
Took the ferry to Suomenlinna fortress and spent the afternoon walking round in the sunshine including a visit to the museum and submarine. All very pretty!
Headed back to the centre and walked around a bit more to see the city, then headed back to the ferry port - the long way again!
Ferry left at 7.30 - we dined in the buffet restaurant with a view and tried some 'dragon blood' shots in the pub - not recommended for the faint - hearted! Woke us up though!
Arrived back and had another walk back to apartment which took our total mileage of the day to a pb of 17! Yay!
