Last day :-( Walked around Geneva for the morning, fountain not turned on today sadly! The sun was out though! Mont Blanc still a bit covered in cloud. Stocked up on chocolate and visited another tea room for some sweet treats, then boarded our final train for free! Plus very very heavy bags!!!!!! 46 kilos in total! Wake up call at 6am from very noisy builders just outside our hotel! Also very rainy! Spent the morning trying to stay dry walking round some of the shops in Bern and had our bit of culture in visiting the Albert Einstein house museum. Got our last train (!) to Geneva at lunchtime where we arrived mid afternoon - no rain here! Found our hotel (very excited to find that our room had a kettle!!!) and then spent the afternoon wandering round some of the sights in ...

Spent the morning walking around Zermatt, bought some souvenirs and chocolate! Got a golf buggy taxi thing to the station for free yay! No complaints! Only two trains today - back on glacier express again, then short ride to Bern. Spent the afternoon walking round the sights of Bern including many fountains and a cathedral covered in scaffolding! Saw Bjork the bear in the bear pit! (Bern isn't Bern without bears!). Sadly sun disappeared and evening a bit soggy...

A day on a train! Left Salzburg at 8 - train to Zurich easy peasy, second train to Visp not so easy - upstairs carriage and not much room! Third train (glacier express) to Zermatt very scenic as we went up through the mountains - much easier to get than we thought! Arrived at about 5.45! Zermatt really pretty, view of the Matterhorn and lovely little place in the mountains. Checked into our hotel which was really nice - big room complete with balcony and view. V...

Train from Vienna in the morning which got us to Salzburg by 11. Left our bags at the hotel and then went into Salzburg for the afternoon. Visited Mirabel gardens (used in the Sound of Music!), Mozart's birthplace museum and the Hohensalzburg fortress where we got some really good views of the city. Went up on a funicular railway too! Evening dined at an Austrian restaurant - new drink tried Ramazotti liqueur which was recommended! Plus local wine! And ice cream...
