Weather a bit patchy today. Heading for Ile Mont St Michel. After another argument with the GPS woman we finally got out of Rennes. Passed through the very picturesque village of Combourg before arriving at the tail-end of the queue for the carparking..............just a few thousand campervans and cars in the fields before the Mont. Luckily the weather has cleared. After a bit of a walk we make it inside and then a bit of a squash through the narrow lower streets, full of junk gift shops and overpriced cafes, before joining the queue for tickets to get into the abbey.
Quite different from ones we've been in so far. Very plain and the stone has a green algae tinge. All the same it's very impressive given it's location. Spent about 3 hours walking around before making it back down to the carpark.
Then headed east along the coast to St Malo where we'd intended to stay the night. Bad idea.......the place is bursting at the seams! Decide to keep going after a quick baguette. Settle on the city of St Brieuc and the Hotel Quartier located in nearby Langueux. Another Premier Classe tiny box. Tried Quick Burger for a change...won't bother again.
