Day 40 14/07/2013 Raft Point to Talbot Bay via Montgomery Reef. Montgomery Reef is the largest inshore reef system in Australia. It extends over 280 sq km. rising up to 4m out of the sea at low tide. As the tide falls there are myriads of cascading waterfalls along the perimeter of the reef. Day 39 13/07/2013 Camden Sound to Raft Point. Early this morning, just after 6am, we all boarded the tenders for an excursion to Sheep Island. This excursion was to visit a historical site. Between 1864 and 1865 this area was the site of the first ill-fated attempt at European settlement in the Kimberley. This attempt to farm sheep proved to be a tragic failure, with ten people dying in a short space of time, including 30 year old Mary Pascoe, whose grave we saw...

Day 38 12/07/2013 Prince Regent River to Camden Sound. This was the first morning with clouds in the sky, but they soon cleared and we were treated to another beautiful Kimberley day.
