Shanghai, although another city was pretty good. Not as much to see as Beijing but still a nice town. Spent most my time walking around, seeing the bund, people's square, the old town, etc etc. The market was fantasic as everything was sooo cheap. Bought a nice skirt for 3 pounds which I thought was a bargain. The hostel was clean, although a bit unsociable..but need a rest for Beijing so wasn't too bothered really. Another couple of good days in Beijing.....this is the life! Yesterday took a long walk round Beijing and got totally lost...but hey that's just me anyway! Took the plunge and did the Great Wall! The walk to the start of it almost killed me...god the number of steps you have to walk up is amazing...and here's me who smokes 20 a day...humm! Anyway the views are fantastic but the walk is both steep upwards and downwards...so I wouldn't say its for the faint hearted! Still enjoying Beijing and still have loads to do. Right where do I start1 Hostel is ok....a bit on the dirty side but never mind! Went to the Forbidden City Yesterday, Tiananmen Square, and Jingshan gardens. The Forbidden City is huge...and the buildings are amazing...mind you did have to wonder why one would need that much space!!! The gardens in Beijing are beautiful and there is so many of them.
