Erica's Travels
Right where do I start1
Hostel is ok....a bit on the dirty side but never mind! Went to the Forbidden City Yesterday, Tiananmen Square, and Jingshan gardens. The Forbidden City is huge...and the buildings are amazing...mind you did have to wonder why one would need that much space!!!
The gardens in Beijing are beautiful and there is so many of them.
Walked from 8am to 6pm yesterday...I felt knackered after all that but it was worth it. There is loads to see here and plenty to do!
Foreigners do pay a different price for things here and it is quite amusing ordering food......as no b***** can speak english!
For some reason when you ask for something they say no they don't have it when they do????? Don't get that one!
Taxi drivers also can't work out the english version addresses so trying to get to another destination is amusing in itself The subways are easy to follow..so thats good then!
I'm being skeptical re food as when you order chicken it doesn't look like chicken...so far have pretty much stuck to the rice and a few bits. However there is a MacDonalds round the corner so if desperate can always eat burgers...sorry I mean dog burgers....hee hee
The cost of food and drink here is very cheap...2 yuan for a large bottle of beer and 5 yuan for a small bottle....yes a confused expression you should have!!!!!!
Its actually a very comfortable place to be...thought ahhh CHina first stop what an idiot I am for choosing this place but its been a hell of a lot easier than I thought...soo thats good then!
Becoming a master in using my chop sticks..even to eat a fried egg.....hmmmmmm
Going to the great wall of China tomorrow so looking forward to that.
Still have to decide on my next destination in China so better pull my finger out on that one.
Think thats it from me at the moment...will update site soon!
