Erica's Travels
Been in Hong Kong since 29th September and leave tomorrow for Vietnam...which I have to say looking forward to it!
Arrived in Hong Kong from Shanghai..and its much cleaner here compared to the rest of China...mind you its also expensive compared to other parts...can't have it all though!
Very humid here, but the views of the city, both during the day and night are beautiful.
I have toured Hong Kong Island, Lantau where I saw the Buddha...hence the photo, I also ventured to Hang Hau and walked around a quiet fishing village...slower pace to Hong Kong central I can tell you!
Found a nice mexican restaurant...ya ya gotta try it all. But also had peking duck and chinese..see I am trying the local food you know!
Its very much like London here...everyone walks in your way...but its also cleaner.
The metro is easy to use to get around the different areas...oh and they now how Disneyland here...but have decided not to visit as didn't feel it was key to my travels...however saying hi to a chinese version of mickey mouse would of been interesting!
Took the star ferry across the harbour last night to walk around Kowloon and watched the skylights/symphony..which was quite good.
Oh and Jason and I got our hair cut yesterday...which was fun. Shampoo...massage of the head!...cut and then blowdry...they did quite a good job. However the lady who cut my hair didn't speak any English so did a lot of it sounds like this.....and should look like this....only joking one of the staff could speak a bit of English so we communicated on a limited basis!
Today we are going to visit Soho and the Peak, which is the area we can get a good view of HK...so more photos to come.
We have just decided on Italian...foods from around the world..nice!
Oh and its quite strange really as everything is in high rise buildings...even this internet place I'm sitting in. So the shopping centres are spread over 20 floors and you always have connections to other areas..its like a bloody maze in some places!
Hong Kong park is nice..loads of ponds and waterfalls...all up hill though and in this heat it kills you!
Anyway thats all from me will update one in Vietnam
