Our drive yesterday from Hervey Bay to Rockhampton was long and very boring!! Teh scenery did not change at all. We drove just under 400k in around 5 hours. The only way to keep us both entertained was music, so we have Rod Stewart and Justin Timberlake blarring out (Mike lost our other cds !!), but he seemed to enjoy singing maggie may at the top of his voice!! We arrived in Rockhampton around 5ish and found a campsite on the river. Rockhampton is nothing special, a quite town and pretty dull so we just stayed at camp for the night and watched Death Race on our dvd player which was actually really good. We both decided that Rockhampton didnt deserve its own blog, lol!

13th June 2009

We left Rockhampton by 9 this morning to drive another 4 hours to MacKay. The drive was pretty dull but we at least past through a few tiny towns and drove by the coast for a bit. MacKay is quite a small town but spread out over the river, its random! We found a cheap campsite for the night then drove to the Blue Lagoon,a man made lagoon which is basically a massive swimming pool but in a really nice setting and free!! The water was too cold to have a swim in though, so we walked around there for a bit then went to the supermarket to get dinner. Burgers tonight as they were reduced to 3 dollars for 6, woop woop!! Love a bargain! Get in!

We headed back to the campsite and Mike decided he had energy to burn so went in the very cold swimming pool there!! I had to throw him the ball for him to catch again, lol. Tonight we washed all our clothes while Mike cooked the burgers which were really good! The campsites over here are so funny, the majority of people in them are the 'older generation"! They all walk into the loos at night and in the morning in their dressing gowns and slippers, bless them!! We are driving to Airlie Beach in the morning!!
