On our way here we stopped in a small town called Marborough, apparently where the author of Mary Poppins came from - FACT! There was a market on so we took a walk through and ended up buying some flavoured nuts, some sour liquorice stuff for Mike and we got some free popcorn, always good when its free! From here, it was about a half hour drive to here.

So we arrived here at around 1ish and found a really good council run campsite right on the beachfront for only 20 dollars. Our spot was less than 20 ft from the beach and a long jetty which went right out into the sea. It has been so warm so we got our chairs out and had lunch! Alot of backpackers go from here to Fraser island, me and Mike were really close to going here but as money is tight we decided we would rather try a skydive in New Zealand and do white water rafting! Also a few people have died recently on Fraser!! After lunch we took a long walk down the beach, stopping to play ball games along the way to keep Mike entertained, lol. We also saw a couple of crabs and a skeleton of a big fish!! We walked back to our campsite and walked to the end of the jetty to watch the sunset which was really good. That night we chilled out, cooked dinner and watched a dvd.

12th June 2009

This morning Mike got up and went for a 4k run along the beach. I decided to have a shower and sort the camper out instead lol. After we got ready and had brekkie we took a drive around the bay. Its really nice here and we could have stayed longer but we needed to make some distnace today so we left for Rockhampton just before lunch.

We only took a few pics in Rainbow and here so will put them into an album for here.
