We left our campsite in Byron Bay by 10 and drove straight to Surfers Paradise, its not far, only about 45 minutes! Once we got to Surfers we parked up near the centre and had a wander around, we went to the tourist information and found out the nearest campsite was 5 minute drive to main beach so went back to the car and drove there. This campsite was much nicer and cleaner than the one we stayed in in Byron. We stayed inbetween to other Jucy vehicles! It was really hot when we arrived so we had lunch and sat in the sun for a while.

Later on we walked a good 2k along the main beach which is really nice, it was still really hot. We walked all the way along until we were back in the main area again, they had some massive amusments which we spent a few dolllars in as it gets Mike all excited!! By the time we came out of here a storm had kicked off, it was raining, thunder and lightening! So we stopped in an irish bar for a drink as it was a long walk back and we would have got drenched! But it didnt stop so we ended up jumping in a taxi. We made up the bed and watched a dvd when we were back which was so cosy with it pouring down outside, lol!! By dinner it had stopped raining and was clear, so we cooked dinner and then went to a mini fairground with 5 really big rides, we wanted to go on them all but they were like 30 dollars each which we couldnt afford :-(. But we went on vomatron!! Basically you sit at one end with people the other and it spins round at 70mph 50m high!! When you go backwards you face the ground on the way down, i may have screamed a little but Mike said it was acceptable to this time as it was pretty scary, lol. After here we went back to camp as were up early to pack all of our stuff and drive to Brisbane as we were dropping Collin off tomorrow :-(.

6th June 2009

We have spent a week in Brisbane chilling and catching up with some friends, and now have another Jucy campervan booked to drive to Cairns. The first one available wasnt until the 9th but as we got it at such a good rate we decided to wait a few days and head back to surfers with the girls. So we got the train this morning which took about an hour then a half hour bus ride. We then got picked up by our hostel, 'The Sleeping Inn' in a limo, but it was so oldskool and nearly falling apart so not as classy as we had hoped lol.

James, Ashlinn and Emma got upgraded to an apartment the night before so me and Mike are in a really small room with 2 bunks, then we have a living area with tv, which also has 2 bunkbeds in and a kitchen, very random! Once we arrived back in Surfers we headed to town to meet the others. We spent an hour on the beach and then just had a walk around. We went to coles to buy dinner as cooked a big meal between us as is much cheaper. We stayed in the guys apartment drinking goon until about 12ish then went out. Goon is basically really cheap wine which comes into contact with fish eggs or something but it tasted fine, lol! We had a good night out.

7th June 2009

Me and Mike got up this morning and went for a walk around town. We then went back for lunch and chilled round emma, Ashlinn's and James apartment for the rest of the afternoon as were all knackered from the night before. Later on we all went to Wooworths which is a supermarket out here! We bought a pack of 40 fish fingers, beans and bread for our dinner, it worked out about 3 dollars each and was really good!

Just before we ate me, Mike, Ashlinn and James went to the adrenalin park, which is a mini fairground with some really big rides. We all went on Vomatron which me and Mike went on when we were here last! We were all pleased with our free t shirts!! After here, we went back and ate our dinner and then all chilled out for the night watching tv. Pip and Tom, another couple from England also joined us. They were both planning on throwing some clothes away so me and Mike have managed to gain some new free clothes!!

Later on me and Mike headed back to our dorm room but the Irish girl in our room bought a guy back and I had to leave the room and go upstairs for an hour for obvious reasons, Mike on the other hand was fast asleep!!! After coming back to my bed again around half 3 next door were "being very loud", lol, so i barely slept at all. The joys of dorms!!!

8th June 2009

I was so tired this morning! Me and Mike got up and layed out on surfers beach for a couple of hours which was really nice. The weather has been gorgeous here the past few days, no clouds in the sky and hot for Oz's winter! After relaxing on the beach for a while we grabbed some lunch then met up with Ashlinn and James for the afternoon. Later on we went back top their apartment again and waited for Emma to get back from the themepark. Me and Mike went out to get food in for dinner but its bank holiday today due to the Queen's Bday (we dont even have a bank holiday for that!) so the supermarkets were closed. So the others met us in town and we all had kebabs!

We bought some beer and goon and spent the evening back at the apartment, with Pip and Tom aswell, playing drinking gameswhich was a bad idea considering me and Mike had to be up at 8am to catch a bus then train back to Brisbane to collect our campervan! That night me and Mike slept on a spare matress in the apartment so slept really well. We all had a good night and have had a good time in Surfers with everyone!!
