We left our hostel in Sydney at 9am then got the underground to Mascot to pick up our Jucy Campervan! After doing th epaperwork and being shown how it all worked we headed off! We have named our camper COLLIN!! We had plan to leave Sydney and head North straight for the East Coast but due to a lack of any decent maps, it took at least an hour longer than it should of! But once we made it on the Pacific Highway we drove towards Newcastle, our first stopover. We arrived in Newcastle around 5pm, it was fairly quite and not alot was open due to the time. It turned out that the nearest campsite was a good 45 minutes away and as we were both really tired already and its pitch black by half 5 here, we decided to pull over in a car park near the beach to cook our dinner on our little stove, lol. After here we used the toliets on the beach we drove around trying to find a quite street to sleep on (your not meant to do this but if its out the way its ok). We found a street but we werent too sure about spending the night just on a random street so we asked a guy who pulled up onto his drive and he told us to pull up on his drive and invitied us in to use his loo and shower etc! We felt a little rude doing that so just made our bed up and watched a dvd before falling alsleep.

We only spent a day and night here but its quite a nice place. There are some nice beaches and a really nice harbour, not to much to do but good for a stopover!
