We got up early this morning to check the road reports and the Pacific Highway was still closed. This meant having to drive 2 hours inland, 2 hours up the New England Highway and 2 hours back towards the coast! So what should have been a scenic 2 hour costal drive ended up taking 7hrs on very winedy roads, up a mountain, down a mountain, getting stuck behind the slowest caravan which wouldnt pull over and was impossible to overtake due to all the mud and landslides we were swerving!!! An absolute misson...but we eventually arrived in Coffs Harbour.
We found a good campsite then went out to the supermarket to get dinner, curry!! And a bargain 4 dollar whole bbq chicken for sandwiches tomorrow, happy days! It was pretty late by the time we were back doing dinner and we were both knackered from the crap drive so we ate then chilled out with a dvd.

We both stupidly got up at 8am to play tennis this morning! It was actually really good, the sun was out, it was already 18 degrees. Tennis wasnt so great as I (Amy) am not the best, lol! Mike wanted to have a good run around and sweat which didnt happen! But it was amusing for him watching me attempt to play! After tennis we went on the kids 'Big Pillow', basically a bouncy castle in the shape of a pillow!! After both acting like 8 yr olds and having races we went back to Collin and had showers etc.
Everyone talks about the 'Big Banana' here in Coffs Harbour so we managed to find out that there is a large banana (fake obviously!) near this activity centre as Coffs Harbour is well known for growing bananas! Sow e went there, took a picture, which wasnt to exciting, then had a look around! It was definately aged for young children but we had one ride on the toboggan ride which was there, but it wasnt as good as Salamandas!
After here we then went to the Pet Porpoise Pool. Its like a small aquarium that has bottle nose dolphins, seals, little blue penguins etc. It was very quiet due to the time of the year but really really good. We got to play ball with the dolphins and touch them etc. We also fed them and got a 'dolphin kiss' lol. We also got a 'seal kiss' which was more like slobber!! This seal was massive and we had to sit next to him while he slobbered on our faces, nice!!! We saw a dolphin and seal show which was good, they are such intelligent animals. Afetr here we sat by the lake nearby to eat our chicken sandwiches which were amazing. We then started the drive up further North to Byron Bay.
The adventure continues.........
