Chilled out in the morning, up quiet early to pack up. Had breakfast but it was't as good as yeaterday. Got back to Kuah and but my bags in storage and had a wander around there before getting back on the ferry. Hour and a half later arrived back in Kuala Kedah and then managed to get back to Alor Setar and into the hostel. Had a wander around the town which was actually quiet rough and I was the only tourist to be seen. Some really nice architecture though...

Really nice breakfast put on by the hotel, a lot of rice and noodles, but also eggy bread!!! Had a wander down to the beach and used the Internet. Went to Oriental Village and went up in the cable car up into the mountains. The views from up there were incredible although the cable car wasn't exaclty sterdy! Really nice up there though and there was even a breeze, I haven't felt one of those in a while. Had some lunch and headed back to the hostel. Sat by...

Train journey all went well and I actually slept which was good. Arrived over an hour late though which was a bit annoying. Tiny train station, actually there wasn't even a building, you just sort of got off the train into a field. Made it to the ferry terminal and sat and had coffee before getting on the ferry for a couple of hours to get to Langkawi. There are no buses on the island so I had to get in a taxi to get to the hostel but thankfully all the rat...

Quiet a boring day. Just packing up and getting ready to finally leave KL. Piled everything into my new bag and thank goodness it all fits. Booked hostel in Langkawi. Finally got to the evening and managed to get to the train station all OK although if I had known what the monorail was like during rush hour I would have got in a cab. It makes the london underground look like nothing, there were people piled on top of each other, faces pressed to the windows....

Up early, had some breakfast and went down to see the Chan She Shu Yuen Temple in Chinatown. Unfortunatly it was all under reconstruction but took some great photos of a lot of scafolding! Really pretty inside though and actually quite quiet compared to a lot of the other temples I have been to. Started heading back to the train station and stumbled across a market so went to have a nose. I think my mother would have actually been in heaven, everything there ...
