Firstly I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and I hear there was snow in the UK, very lucky. Although I'm in Uganda, you'd think hot, blazing sun, no. It rained on my Christmas day, monsoon style! :)

Even before getting to Lake Bunyoni I had my camera stolen! I didn't realise until we were on the bus. My bag had been sliced on the side and my camera gone! Gutted!
I've stolen Vics camera for now, going to buy a new one soon.
Also, we've lost another volunteer. Danielle was very home sick and missing her church, so decided it was best that she left Uganda. Sophie is on her own now, she's going to see how things go and Project Trust will keep an extra eye on her, although I think she'll do just fine :) If not they'll move her projects.

Caitlin and Rosie wanted to stay with their Ugandan family and Martha is currently working in Kenya, so the remaining 10 of us headed to West Uganda, to Lake Bunyoni for Christmas.

I've forgotten the name of the Island we stayed on (it was an African name) but it was 15minutes from the mainland to get there and was owned by a man in the UK but run as a community project.

One day we were going to canoe to the mainland to get supplies, but after an hour in the water, going around in circles, we gave up and got George to take us down in the speed boat. Found out Rob who plays rugby, it took him 3 hours to canoe, we would of had no hope!
Although Emily reasurred me dug out canoes can't tip unless seriously on purpose it was still scary stuff, they feel so unsteady! Yep we failed on our mission to get to the mainlan, but had a right laugh along the way.
We went skinny dipping Christmas Eve, so funny! First meeting Heather she was this shy girl and just 4 months in she's changed so much, what I'm trying to say is whilst everyone was slowly undressing, we turn around to see Heather diving in butt naked! Go girl ;)
We were supposed to be heading back to Kampala on the 28th morning and had told the manager when arriving that we would be leaving 2 days early. Come the 27th Clinton was having none of it, he said we had to pay for the 2 nights! We ended up staying the 2 nights, get our moneys worth :)
Sunbathing on the pier (when the rain was nice and held off for just a little bit!) playing football, canoeing, swimming, chilling in the dorm, we just had such a great time as a group.
It's hard to sum up really what we did, I suppose those are the memories you share together, but we all laughed and smiled so much throughout the week :) I had a brilliant Christmas!

Oh yeah, caught a glow worm, they keep glowing when you put them in your mouth ;)

Off home now to do some clothes washing then heading into Kampala tomorrow to meet up with everyone again. Going to watch the Christmas Carol at Cineplex.
