So the biggest news of this week is that Sophie has Malaria!
Soph felt as though she had a bad flu for a few days but after Caitlin took her temperature and it was 38, they went straight to The Surgery were a blood test for Malaria came back positive! Soph spent the night and was discharged last night. She's staying in a guesthouse only 5 minutes from The Surgery incase anything happens but is slowly getting better. It's just very hard to see someone who is very strong as a person (she's Irish which helps!) just become so weak!
We've been in each day after school to see her and give Caitlin a little break who has been staying with Sophie.
School has been so quite this week with children not being around. I had 6 students for the beginning of the week with 4 today, so they just played on the drums, sang and danced whilst I coloured in the alphabet for a wall display. How exciting!
Well we break off tomorrow after giving out reports to students parents and then we have a month off.
I don't think I'm going to be up to much. Probably project hop and see everyone elses Ugandan experience.
Well I say I'm not up to much, my parents and Aunty Diane are coming out on the 28th!!!
YES! :D
When I travel past meat hanging from the street, cows grazing on roundabouts or being the only white person in a matatou, I just gave by and continue with my day. Before my camera was out every 5 mintutes but now your forget as it's just the norm. I was thinking travelling into town today, how it's going to be for an outsider. Oh my gosh, I just can't write down my feelings on the topic, I'm just too darn excited!!
Madam Jane was praying so much for the ash cloud to move and her prayers were listened too. So we are now planning that when they're all out here Jane is going to pray again but this time for the ash cloud to come again so their time will be extended in Uganda! Yayy :)
We had cow at school and well I don't think I've chewed a piece of meat for so long and it not changing size.
I've had beef and goat in Uganda before but not like that. I ended up just having to swallow this 'thing' Hmm nice!
The rat-cat is still on the loose! Mr Sentoogo is really trying his hardest but no luck. Another trap was set last night with the rat just eating it and the trap not shutting! So we're thinking of just glueing it on so when it tugs, BANG! Hopefully :)
I'm back online Saturday, so will put some photos on then.
Vic has re-hearsal so I'm off home to make some English pasta with a tomato and herb sauce, love it :) It's the freshest dish we can get out here!
Lots of Love x x x x
