Hello!! Right Em is making me do this under duress as she puts up photos so now I have to try and remember what we got up to! Right...Cape Trib! Tis the only place in the world (as Ive just read and stolen off someone elses journal - thanks Nikki!) Where rainforest meets beach meets reef - or maybe without the reef, clearly I'm a rubbish thief! Anywho, we travelled up with a road rage/tree lover/enthusiastic tour guide called Finn. Lordy, bit o' an old hippy really, Em and I hid at the back of the bus! After a little bit of a hair raising trip along gorgeous coastlines and the like, (we went to a croc park and saw some animals....and walked a wee while in a wee rainforest walk way thing) we got to PKs Jungle Village. The rooms are like little cabins and had a few cobwebs in there but after a thorough search Em was happy there were no spiders! On the first night, all the lasses in our room went on a night walk into the rainforest with a guide who must have been Rolf Harris' brother! Idiot made everyone turn their torches off in the middle of the pitch black rainforest though! Maniac! Didn't see much, just a coupla spiders and bandicoots and a giant rat, we were on the hunt for snakes but no luck! He found an eel in the stream and someone asked if they bite and he said oh no they are lovely eels, stuck his finger in the water to stroke it going, hello lil fella, you're a good boy aren't you. Well I never knew eels could jump! It jumped and latched on to his finger so fast! It was so funny! Big idiot was like, crikey, that's never happened to me before! He then found a spider he had never send before and proceeded to stroke it so I have little faith in his judgement! Suffice to say, when he suggested licking ants bums cause they taste of lemon, Em and I declined! We went croc hunting too but didn't see anything although I definitely heard something coming in from the water! It was at that moment Emma2's torch started to give up! Next day we went exploring along the jungle beach and found the secret beach but not the escapee Cassowary bird thing with a penchant for theft and assault! That night we accidentally had a drinky night playing weird drinking games, if you have never watched 7 grown people yelling out YEHA and singing Achy Breaky Heart then you haven't lived my friends and need to see Ems video of our Ben singing his little heart out! We started off just a few of us playing poker with pasta (freshly bought pasta which somehow kept ending up in my drinks!) but I got kicked out twice for betting all my money on 4high! There were about 25 of us sitting round playing Zimi Zimi or something, I was sitting next to someone from Watford who understood less that me so they all picked on him and left me alone. And Ben, Watford is not in Essex so he is MY friend. SUFFAAAAAAAAAA. Got some cracking photos of that night, mostly of the lovely Leanne looking....special! The next day is fondly called Hangover day and we just sat around while Ben ate the most disgusting things you have ever seen. The next day Ben and Emma2 were leaving so we all went to the Bat Cave - not as exciting as it sounds I'm afraid, no batman, just one giant spectacled fox bat or something and a photo of batman in the corner! After we had made sure the other 2 had left Emmy and I went jungle surfing. Basically its flying around through the canopy of the rainforest on giant zip wires! SO MUCH FUN! Although we were identified straight away as the ones to mock in the group and I was given a hat that said monkey and Emma had Pigsy!! So much fun was had; many a disgusting photo was taken, especially when one of the blokes who worked there stole my camera to capture the moment! We even went down one wire upside down - how brave are we?! Ok so the bloke basically decided I would do it anyway but I was gonna I swear! Between you and me, a couple of them too great pleasure in chucking me off the edge of a tree and making me go dead fast! They were much slower for other people! New people moved in that night who disgustingly look younger than me even though they were at least 6 years older! I found out that I'm not the worst card player in the world and much fun was had! Emma also found out that I sulk when I'm taken away from the pub to pack! Damn travelling! Decided against going to Port Douglas so we ran back to Cairns the next day for my birthday festival! Ok the Cairns festival but I don't think it was just a coincidence that they happened on my birthday! Tell you more later! Love you love lennie xxx
