I met Dom back in Sydney and we drove to the Blue Mountains, named that due to the blue haze that devours them. We stayed a 5* heritage hotel that was brilliant, real luxury with even an electric blanket and toiletries replenished each day! A while since ive been treated to those amenities! Also having a car provides you with so much more flexiblity. Echo Point is the main look out from where you can view the Three Sisters, 3 big rocks(not very well described). Apparently there were 7 to begin with but the rest have crumbled away in time. It reminded me very much of the Lake District, except instead of all the lake..mountains :-) It also was colder there and the colours of the leaves were sensational, the reddest reds i have ever seen. It was so lovely to be reminded of home. The blue mountains was one of my favourite places, we staye din the main town of Katoomba, which was lovely and small. In the evenings we ate nice food, watched movies and sat by log fires. A perfect little get away for my last week in Australia! After 3days it was time to head back to Sydney,2hours away, for Dom to fly back to England.
For my last 3days i stayed at the Sydney YHA which was a brilliant hostel with really comfortable rooms and even a free cinema where u just laze on cushions and watch movies each morning and night. It also had a rooftop heated pool and sauna, where i spent most my time! I visited the Aquarium and saw their collection of Duodongs, mermaid like whale-fish type things. On my final night in Australia i went to Darling Harbour and as it was its 21st birthday they celebrated with fireworks. A spectacular display of fireworks shot out from Jet-Skis whilst they were whirling around the harbour. A perfect end to a perfect country. Five months after arriving i flew to Fji for the next chapter of my adventure...
