Day 321 (Tuesday 21st October 08)
A very cold morning again! After some breakfast and a hot drink went down to the boat across to Raymond Island. Left Hoki Poki parked up in Paynesville and got the boat across to Raymond Island for free. Walked up to the streets where the lady from the tourist information had told us to go to see the wild koalas. Walked along with our heads looking in the trees and spotted one almost instantly. While we were walking along the road saw one in almost every tree. Some where very low in the trees which was awesome to see. Very exciting morning, went out to the headland to see if we could see any dolphins, unfortunately none around so went to get the boat back to Paynesville. Earlier had spotted that there were hot showers were we had parked up for the night so went to try them. Couldn't believe our luck when we found they were actually hot! Enjoyed a nice hot shower then went up to Eagle Point to the lookout. Went to the picnic area for some lunch. Back into Bairnsdale and popped to Aldi to do some much needed food shopping. We were then onto Stratford, took the scenic way and saw a wallaby right by the side of the road and then an enchidna in the field. Stopped at a rest area in Stratford where there was a kid's birthday party going on. Did some study and then went onto Sale. Again stopped at the tourist information. Mark was cheeky and asked where the free places were to stay around here. The guy came back with "you cheap ass pom" but luckily was joking and gave us lots of tips on places to stay. Went down to the canal and made something to eat. Did some study before it was dark and then went off to find a car park for the night.
