Day 290 (Saturday 20th September 08)

Had a relaxing morning making the most of the campervan park. Another hot shower and we had to be checked out by 10am. Went for a drive around the city to see what was around. Then carried on heading south towards the Gold Coast. Mark not feeling too well, a bit of a cold coming on. Probably the cold showers! Ended up in Southport, very busy with it being the weekend. Had some lunch and then went for a look around. Chilled out in one of the car parks by the beach. Found some nice clean toilets at McDonalds then went to cook and find somewhere to park up for the night.

Day 291 (Sunday 21st September 08)

Our choice for where to be parked up hadn't been very good as the road stayed really busy all night and the cars shook the van as they went past! So hadn't had a very good night's sleep. Parked up by the beach and chilled out for the day. Played some backpacker and went for a walk. Later went back to McDonalds to use the toilets and as Em was coming out a woman said to her if she waits a few minutes she will be giving out free stuff. Noticed she was from one of the radio stations so hung around for a few mintues and got some free bread, drinks, caps, bags and magazine! Pleased we had been there at the right time. Went to use the internet for Skype. Afterwards very hungry so went and cooked and found somewhere better to sleep.
