Day 313 (Monday 13th October 08)
After a better night's sleep as it was as freezing cold as the night before made our way to Batemans Bay back in NSW on the coast. Took our usual trip to the tourist information and found out that Pebbly Beach just half an hour north of Batemans Bay was a really good spot for the Kangaroos. Drove up there and hoped we would be ok on the unsealed road. When we arrived the weather wasn't looking too great so parked and went for a look on the beach. An awesome beach but couldn't see any Kangaroos around. Thought they would probably come out later on around early evening so decided to spend the day here and wait to see them later. Spent some time around Hoki Poki watching all the parrots which were very inquisative. Another couple parked up and once they had been for a look on the beach started eating their lunch. The birds were going right in their car and soon the couple were feeding them. We got chatting to them and then the caretaker for the national park came along. We asked him were the good places to see the Kangaroos were around here and he pointed us in the right direction, up a back path by someone's house. We all went for a walk and sure enough the Kangaroos were there. When we came back there was a Kangaroo with Joey just by the BBQ area which was really cool. Sat down by the beach for a while and then went back to watch the parrots. When it started to get cooler went down to the beach to see if we could see the Kangaroos on the beach and we were lucky enough to see them. As we were walking along a massive goanna walked into the scrub. Once we were finished headed back into Batemans Bay as it started to pour with rain. Parked up in one of the car parks hoping to cook something to eat but got a bit put off in the thunder and lighting. Waited for a while hoping it would pass but looked very set in so ended up popping to Coles to find something we could eat without cooking.
