Day 160 (Wednesday 14th May 08)

A very sleepless night on the bus to Kuala Lumpur. Arrived at about 6am and walked over to the bus station to get tickets for the first bus going to Melaka. Luckily there was a bus leaving at 6:30am so bought our tickets and went off to find the scanky toilet. Then downstairs to our platform to wait for the bus. Again soon on our way and after another couple of hours arrived in Melaka. Got a taxi easily enough to one of the areas for backpacker accommodation. After a bit of looking around found somewhere to stay. They didn't have any rooms available until 12 noon though so just left our bags and went off to find some food. After some breakfast walked back up to the Carrefour that Mark had spotted for a look around. Then carried on through the shopping mall. At around 12 went back to the hotel and checked into a room. Had a couple of hours kip and a shower and felt a bit more human! Went in search of the internet. After a lot of walking around found some internet to check our emails and look into accommodation for Melbourne again. Once we had finished we then walked back to where we had been to the shopping mall earlier. There was a bigger one across the road so we thought we would have a wander round that. After some food and a look around we went back to our hotel.

Day 161 (Thursday 15th May 08)

An earlier start this morning as we wanted to get all our sightseeing done today before moving on tomorrow. Went across the road for some breakfast and then walked back towards the shopping malls. Popped into the larger one to change some money to Singapore Dollars then carried onto the main sights. By now it was the hottest part of the day so struggling in the heat! Got some pictures, walked around the sights and part of Chinatown. Stopped for a good fruit juice in a little cafe and decided to head back to the malls. Went to have a look what was on at the cinema and ended up booking to see Ironman. It wasn't on until 5pm so popped back to the hotel to read our books for a while. We both really enjoyed the film and were very pleased we had been to see it, especially at only one pound each! Crossed over to the other mall and got some funny wallet photos taken and then went for something to eat.
