Day 1 ( Friday 7th Dec 07)

Arrived at about 9am in Dubai and Dave was there waiting to meet us. He took us back to his to drop our stuff off and then we went for a drive to see a few of the sights. We went off roading in the desert and stopped to walk the dogs which was amazing after driving around massive skyscrapers. The heat was also a shock coming from cold, wet, windy Guernsey! It was then onto the F1 power boat racing with lunch provided by Le Merdian Hotel, a great experience! Then onto the Barasti Bar to chill out with some more beers and smoking Shesha.

Day 2 (Saturday 8th Dec 07)

Got up late after the jet lag and day before. Went and layed by the pool for a bit to catch some rays. Down the road to Central Perk for lunch which looked just like the cafe in Friends. Had a look round the Mall of the Emirates and saw the famous indoor Ski Dubai. Walked the the dogs again and back for a BBQ and more Shesha.

Day 3 (Sunday 9th Dec 07)

Up late again! Went on Big Bus Tour which was a great way of seeing Dubai. Stopped at the museum and carried on from there on a walking tour crossing the river on the Abras and then walking through the Spice and Gold Souks, very interesting.

Day 4 (Monday 10th Dec 07)

Carried on with the bus tour to see the rest of the sights. Had lots of near death experiences with the crazy drving. Went back to the Mall of the Emirates to look for a camera and had a look round the clothes shops but knowing we couldn't buy much as not much room in the backpacks!! Back to Dave's for another good BBQ and more Shesha, us this time having a go at making it.

Day 5 (Tuesday 11th Dec 07)

Had a lazy day lying by the pool. Took the dogs for a walk when Dave was back from work. Another good meal and then we went to Souk Madinat for a look around. An amazing place, stopped for a couple of drinks and a Shesha.

Day 6 (Wednesday 12th Dec 07)

Up early to try and find Godolphin museum with no success. Went on to Barasti Bar for lunch and had a very scary taxi ride back to Spinneys as the guy was falling asleep at the wheel and he seemed a bit strange!! Got ready for desert safari and went and met our guide. Had a drive out to the meet the other vehicles and had an interesting toilet stop! Off into the desert for some amazingly skillful driving up and down sand dunes. Unforgetable experience. Watched the sunset ontop of the dune and then drove onto the base camp where we both had a couple of camel rides. Again smoked lots of Shesha, Em got a Henna tatoo and had some good BBQ food followed by a belly dance show.

Day 7 (Thursday 13th Dec 07)

Went again to try and find Godolphin museum with Dave and found out that it was closed down. Carried on to Souk Madinat to have another look around in the daytime. Found out that the Abra rides could only be done late afternoon so went back to Dave's to try and reconfirm our flights and then back to Souk Madinat for a scenic Abra ride of the Jumeriah Resort. Dave took us to Harboor Grand Hotel for our "Last Supper", the food was amazing. Again back to the Barasti bar for some tequilas, beers and Shesha.
