We arrived back in Hanoi this morning around 6.30am, the bus from sapa took 11 hours back. Our bus to halong bay was at 8am- short 4 hour trip to the east of Vietnam. However we didn't get on it, the woman from the travel agents missed the bus going past after she got distracted with some other people resulting in her trying to put a driver, me, Jordan and two backpacks all onto one motorbike to catch up with the big bus- as soon as it took off I fell off the back and refused to get on, so she called another motorbike for me so we each we're on the back. The man was mental, he drove like a maniac and nearly crashed about 7 times not ever stopping at crossroads or red lights and anyone who knows me will know I am a nervous passenger in a car let one on the back of some crazy Vietnamese. So by the time we caught up with the big bus I was a mess, crying and everything and then we saw the bus was disgusting and no seats together as we we're promised. At this point I was ready to break down, so we decided to get in a taxi back to the travel agents where we complained and she arranged for us to go the next day on a nicer bus free of charge. By this time it was only about 9am and I was exhausted so we checked into a nice hotel round the corner for a shower and nap before having a wonder around some of the streets. So another night in the busy city of Hanoi but it meanti got to go and have my favorite noodle soup and a little resteraunt which was nice and me and jord watched a film in bed and chilled out, ready for a second go at the trip to halong bay in the morning.
