Last night was our last night in Hanoi and in Vietnam altogether. And I have loved most of it, unfortunately the last part in halong bay ruined it and really did change Jordan's view completely of the people here although I said I would give it a second chance...maybe I spoke too soon. We arrived at the airport for our flight to Bangkok only to find it had been cancelled- apparently we should have got an email a week ago telling us this although we never did. So he then tried to tell us we had to just book another flight- no refund no compensation or anything, the other flight was over $800 US dollars for a 1 and a half hour flight so I told him where to go! He also suggested then flying another day but that meant overstaying our visas which isn't an option!! So after more arguing he eventually refunded us 300$- 100 each for the flight and 50 compensation from the airline, more than I had paid in the first place and in cash, result!!! So I then went on to book us another flight which I found for £60 each- $100us dollars. So we actually made money on that flight which was good but also made us have a 7 hour wait until the next flight and causing us to miss our train from Bangkok to Koh Tao that night meaning we have to stay in Bangkok a night which we we're not planning on doing. I wasn't overly bothered though as it meant more shopping on Koa San Road! By this time we we're both well and truly ready to leave Vietnam and get back to Thailand. Finally on a plane with Qatar airlines we are both comfy watching a film with free drinks and food ready for take off. Goodbye Vietnam and see you soon Bangkok, another step on our journey.
