dzasta travels
28 days to go and I am setting up this site to make sure I can work it. Im off to Nepal (about 10 days), Bhutan (7 days) then India for the remainder of the 6 weeks. I have booked airfares to and from Kathmandu via Hong Kong, and Bhutan is all booked and paid for everything else I have to do as I go. The flight is approx 24 hours with a 12 hour layover in Honkers and same coming home. Bhutan has to be booked and paid for in advance so that is done and I wont have to worry about that. It was a bit of a hastle sending the money cos my bank are a pack of ********s but it has been done and the tour company (Raven tours) have acknowledged it. The costs are starting to add up and they are not all exactly travel related. Some are government ripoffs. $250AUS in taxes on the airfares, just over $300AUS for injections, $26 for passport photos (need 2 sets for visa's etc) and visa's Nepal $30US (at the border) Bhutan $20US(organised by Raven p/up at the border) Indian $90AUS (p/up in Aus before I go) I got insurance with World Nomads $164AUD, which was about the best I could find in the cheap bracket and still cover everything. If my back pack gets stolen I have to prove I own everything in it to make a claim, with receipts etc. Think about it??? Can you prove you own the clothing you are wearing now????? I am going to take a photo of everything I am taking, they say this will do. I have studied a lot of travel sites over the last 12 months, Thorn tree, Travel pod, Virtual tourist, Tripadviser etc and I am pretty sure I have some idea what I am in for. I am confident I know enough to not get ripped off too bad and enough to know I will get ripped off somewhere but at least it is in India so I wont be too expensive. Hopefully this will now be my first entry and I have done everything right, now I just have to learn to add photos.
