dzasta travels
After breakfast I decided to head to the Royal Palace area and look around. The place is still used as a Royal Palace for ceremonial stuff and all the temples have different uses.
You cant go in in shorts so had to hire long pants for 200b deposit. It cost 500b to get in so I jumped on the back of a tour group. It was pretty easy cos there were so many groups, the one I jumped in with was all Thai.
At the main temple you have to take your shoes off. What is it with the Muslims and Buddhists, always put stuff on or take stuff off. You are not allowed to take photo's inside, so you possibly wont see any here, it depends if they turned out. I really wanted a close up of the Emerald Buddha but I couldn't get one. There were sooo many people, the place was packed.
After I left here I did a bit of a walking tour in the area. There were heaps more Wat's and eventually they all start to look the same and I stopped taking photo's. More Wat's means mor4e taking off shoes. Wat Suthat had some kind of ceremony going on so I couldn't go inside.
Suddenly I remembered I had to pick up my Myanmar visa. Checked the time3 and the map and decided there was enough time and it was only about 6 inches on the map. Six inches equated to about 12km, which I still made in time but couldn't stop much. All arvo I thought I was lost and was gonna have to get a taxi but I kept finding landmarks that I could identify on the map. I found it in plenty of time, don't know what all the worry was about.
I went to Patpong again last night, not least because there is a Burger King up there. I was looking for some new shorts but the prices are crazy. Yesterday I bought 2 shirts for 250b on the street near Sukhumvit. The exact same shirt at Patpong started at 850, dropped to 450 and I walked away. Someone started at 1000b for shorts I had seen yesterday for 150b. I did buy a Ferrari shirt from a very persuasive lady boy errr to go with my Ferrari.
Funny thing is a lot of the clubs have lady boy's as bouncers. Can you imagine playing up and getting chucked out by a lady boy?
Im on Air Asia this arvo to Myanmar. I hope there are touts at the airport when we get there so I can find somewhere to stay in Yangon.
