dzasta travels
Well I got here OK. The thieving taxi drivers wanted 450baht for a taxi so I got the train. Cost 45baht and I had the pleasure of sharing the experience with about a million stinky little Thai's. The trains are pretty easy except I have to keep checking where the train is finishing cos that is what is shown at the station and on the train.
The hostel Im in is pretty cheap, it was about 1600baht for 3 nights and it is pretty clean. Only thing is I don't get my own bathroom, gotta share but Im sooo tired now I don't care.
I went to the Myanmar Embassy this morning to get my visa and I was soo unorganized. I am usually pretty good and have everything I need but not today. I needed 2 photo's and couldn't find the ones I had so I had to leg it up the street to get some done. There were heaps of people at the embassy so I didn't think I would get it in time. Luckily I got back before they close at 12.30 and this time I didn't have a photo copy of my passport, so leg it again to get copy. Lucky the sheila behind the counter took pity on me, or it was my charm and animal magnetism, and she said to come straight back to the front and not line up again. Visa is now applied for so I gotta book a ticket cos she said the border is closed. I finished all this by about 1pm but it feels like about 7pm, I've been up all night.
I don't wanna go to bed too early so I stopped on the way back at Siam station to have a bit of a look around. The big shopping centers are really high end, one has Madame Tussauds in it and an aquarium. I was looking for and old building I saw from the train but couldn't find it, I saw it again on the way home, I just needed to walk a bit further.
Gonna try to have a good look around tomorrow so prolly update again tomorrow.
I nearly forgot to tell you...Its hot as hell up here, 36deg today and the room at the embassy was almost unbearable.
I walked down the street last night and had dinner. Decided to go with Chicken and cashews and they did a great job of hiding the chicken. Meal and a king brown cost $5 so pretty happy with that.

john Skelton I walked past the MBK today and nearly took a photo, I might go in and have a look tomorrow if I get a chance.
Ngaere Our usual hotel joins MBK - one of my favourite shopping places. We have taken the train from MBK to the airport, with the million Thai's two back packs and a case. Don't think they liked us very much but it was a great experience. Stay safe. Enjoy your meat on a stick tonight. Look forward to the next entry.
