Last night I had tagine for dinner. It is the second time I have had it. A few days ago I had chicken and yesterday I had beef. There won't be a third. It is bland, overlooked, tasteless and oiled. I am definitely not a fan. Then last night I went to bed early and woke up just after 11 with a massive pain in the guts. Let's just say I spent the rest of the night on the throne. I have been OK today so I looks like nothing serious.
The Abhou bus today was OK. It is definitely a step down from the CTM bus and has no aircon so it was very hot but I managed.
When we got here, an hour late, I thought we were going to be dropped at the edge of town but it turned out OK. They stopped at a bus station across the road from the gate (bab) I was looking for. The second hotel I tried is fine so it only took yen minutes to find hotel. It has own bath room, hot water and WiFi, that is all I need. As a bonus it has TV and aircon and it is the cheapest room in Morocco so far.
Today I did the Lonelyplanet walk through the medina. I got totally lost. I did eventually find all the landmarks. Even when I found a point where I was sure I was in the right place I still couldn't follow the map or directions. Any way I still made it and got to see some extra bits. I didn't take many pics cos it was a bit the same in places. The metal workers were pretty cool. I also found my way to the tanneries. They were interesting. Besides standing in waist deep dyes, one of the processes is with pidgeon poo. They stand in it twice a day for a week, I dunno what it does but it is early in the process. The place is 3km from my hotel and all down hill so that means 3km up hill to get back. I am going to go again this arvo and see if I can do a video there..
This morning I went to the bus station to get ticket to Meknes for tomorrow. CTM bus is at 11.30 and I want earlier than that so I will have to look around in the morning and see what I can find.
This arvo I wanted to do a video at the tannery. I headed there and 1/2hr in I was lost. I was sure I knew the way. 4hr later I finally found my way to somewhere I knew and made it back to my hotel. I had been up so many dead end streets, now I have seen so much of the medina. Way more than most people. I grabbed a map and headed off again. Again 1/2hr in I'm lost again. Luckily this time I marked it on google maps and backtracked to my mistake. I had confused two different walks so while it was familiar it was the wrong way. I eventually made it and got the video that I will post tomorrow.

Ngaere Stay well. Keep safe
Julie Dellas So much walking! I would feel like giving up if it was so easy to get lost! Are there heaps of pigeons then?
John I did feel like giving up but I had to get out of there somehow. Surprisingly there are not a lot of pigeons, I don't know where they get the poo from or who thought of it in the first place.
Bob Looks like you will be Super Fit when you get back! Great video's etc
