So I'm back in Jerusalem and today I went to Yad Vashem. it is a Holocaust memorial on a hill here for the 6mil jews killed in the Holocaust. The main triangular building covers the whole thing from the start through the second world war till the end. I found it a bit hard to follow, at times there are 3 different TVs you can hear and try to follow. Most of it is in german or Hebrew, with subtitles. There is some very graphic film and photos. The Hall of Names was impressive, it is the most extensive Holocaust library and archives in the world. One of the problems is the tour groups, they hold you up or push you along and generally get in the way. All over the place are rock plaques saying this is sponsored by "Name" from USA. Seems most of the place is made possible by donations from USA.
After that I walked back to the guest house. I wanted to get some pics of the new town for you but there is not much of interest. Everything is the same colour and all the buildings are clad in the same rock.
Tomorrow is Shabat so not much transport around and day after is a holiday so same again so I going to be bored if I cant find a way to get out of the city at least for a few hours.
