dzasta travels
I walked to the bus this morning at 6am in shorts and T shirt. The weather here is great. Today they recon it got to 39 but I didn't think it was not that bad. It is supposed to be like that all week. The bus here came through Caesarea and stopped there for about an hour. Caesarea was an important port in its day but has been long since used. the theatre has been totally wrecked cos they put some bars up and a modern stage in the front. The place is made of limestone and as we know that doesn't work too well on the coast. It was a little disappointing. At the end I went to but a drink. He only had coke so I said OK and he tried to charge me 15 shekles. I told him to shove it and walked away he said 12 shekels, Ok 10 shekels. He didn't get a sale from me.
Im in a hostel called Fauzi Azar. It is a converted old house and run by Fauzi's grand daughter. It looks pretty good so far. When I got here I met an American guy and he has been with me all arvo. We went to the top of the hill to a view point. It took a long time to get there but the walk was worth it. There is a church up there as well and I had to ask around to get in but again it was worth it. To get there we followed the first part of the Jesus trail. It is a 60km walkinh trail that apparently follows places in his life. NO! I am not going to walk it. We walked around town for the rest of the arvo. The place is full of churches which makes a change from mosques. The church of the Annunciation and St Joseph's church where they say Joseph's carpentry shop was.
We also spent some time looking for a bus or sherut for Barry to get to Tel Aviv. We also had Maccas for lunch, cosher of course.
Im going to base here for a couple of days so I can finish looking around later in the week.
Tomorrow I going up to the Golan Heights
This morning I walked Barry to the sherut and saw him off. Then I hit the road to see the rest of Nazareth. Not much to tell just a few more photos.

Ngaere Happy Birthday - Enjoy the day.
Chris Happy Birthday, Hostel looks really nice!
tony_deb Happy 59th birthday. You are getting plenty of exercise now, but it might not be the case as you get closer to the big 60. How many more churches are left for you to amaze us with?
Ashlea Looks like a nice way to spend your birthday! And you even have a cute little place to stay at :) Love you lots! Happy birthday xx
