I think you either love or hate Cuba. There is no middle of the road. I dunno if I love it or hate it? There is stuff I loved, the old buildings and old cars. And stuff I hated, not having enough Spanish. It was hard cos they don't have much independent tourism just yet. Most people come on package tours, stay in high end hotels, get shuffled out to the bus in the morning to see the sights, then shuffled back to the hotel at night. In the shops they don't see many gringos so it is *************'t speak Spanish and the shops are all the same, there is a counter and you have to ask for what you want. I usually pointed cos they don't understand my accent..
5 days was too long for me in Havana but not long enough in Cuba. I wish I had more time then I could have gone to some other places and have a bit less time in the Capitol.
