Location, location
North of the South Island is a beautiful place to be. We started this morning in a Department of Conservation (DOC) hut in the Abel Tasman National Park - pretty basic and lots of snoring dorm sharers but less than a minute from the beach and next to the bush.
We tramped back to civilisation through lush forest, beautiful bays and scenic, hill viewpoints. Followed up with one of the most scenic drives in NZ up and over Takaka Hill, and really that would have been more than enough for one day.
However on arrival to Blenheim, the beautiful farms and vineyards gave a fun hint to what we'll be doing over the next few days. Quaffing, sorry I mean tasting, the award winning local Sauvignon Blanc is a tough job, but someone has to do it. I will be reminded of friends from home and fun times had over the odd bottle of Cloudy Bay.
Bottoms Up
