The Castaways
Hello. Well we are just about to leave Chiang Mai and it is really nice. Bangkok wasn't that great but this is very different. A lot more relaxed and not so busy. We have looked round the city, exploring the wats (temples) which were amazing and have looked around the huge night bazaar and got ourselves a maccy d's!! We also went on a one day trek to the outside of Chiang Mai where we walked up a mountain practically to see an hill tribe. Dulcie being the pillar of fitness found it ok!! NOT! It was so hard because it was all up hill, loose ground and it was soooo hot. But it was interesting. We then went to see elephants and got to ride on one which was really something. The owners didn't seem that bothered at all and just kept letting our elephant walk down these banks to eat some food. One elephant started to charge down this hill and that really scared us and the owners even seemed a bit concerned, but it was good. We got to then see another hill tribe and a waterfall and went bamboo rafting. We got soaked and Matthew had to stand up and help direct it so he almost fell off several times. Very tiring day though but well worth it!! We are leaving tomorrow and will keep you all updated with our next few stops in Thailand before we head into Loas.
