The Castaways
Well we stayed in Cambodia for only 4 days - Siem Reap - and got to visit the Angkor temples. It was so cool but very tiring as it was very hot and it involved a lot of walking around and climbing some silly stairs. Angkor Wat was definately the most magnificent and the largest (as it is the biggest in the world) and we had a great time taking a lot of different pictures. One of the temples that we visited was where Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider and another martial arts film called Two Brothers was filmed so that was good. We have walked the same steps as Harrison Ford and Angelina Jolie - very exciting!! Cambodia generally here was quite expensive with the travelling around the temples etc and the people are very poor and the tourists are just hassled left, right and centre which can get very tiring after a while. It's hard to ignore them as they are only doing what they can but they do not take no for an answer and just follow you and touch you. So in that respect we are glad to be back in Thailand. Also the bus journey that we had to endure there and back from the Thai border was an experience thats for sure!!! It was dust EVERYWHERE and the road for 6 hours was literally one big hole. At some points we bounced off our seats and my feet came out of my flip flops as the bounces where so big!! Very painful and something that we dont want to do again soon. They said in our guide books you need to practise buddist calm for this journey - that is so true as there is a lot of waiting around!! And also we saw the scariest beggar in the world - with dreadlocks in his face and just shorts and he stood nect to Dulcie!!!So creeping! So now we are hitting the beaches and are going to seriously take it easy from here!!!!!
