Well we left Vang Vieng and Friends to travel down to the capital Vientiane. After seeing some of Laos and it being so beautiful we were disappointed the capital was so lame. There were open sewers along the pavement so everywhere generally smelt. Vang Vieng was like a little Britain. It was so Westernised but great! We literally spend 3 days watching Friends in a restuarant that has little raised sofa type table and chairs. It was nice to watch loads of Friends and to chill out. When we were dropped off at the bus station we didn't think that it would be like that as it looked like the middle of nowhere, but we soon found our way and a nice guesthouse where we had amazing views. Laos is amazing! It's so beautiful!!! We left Huay Xai after one night (and there really wasn't anything to do there at all!!) on the slow boat heading for Luang Prabang. We choose the slow boat which takes 2 days rather then the 7 hour speedboat which apparently is a death trap!!
