The Castaways
We are now in Ayuthaya and it is very nice and cultural here. We are guessing that the only reason to be here is for the sights of the ancient temples because this once was the capital of Thailand. The bus here was easy enough as it is only 1 hour and 1/2 outside of Bangkok. We have been a boat tour of the city and a tuk tuk tour of the city. The boat tour took us to 3 of the main temples on the other side of the river (and we did see a giant lizard swimming casually next to us) and then the tuk tuk/robin relient took us to another 3 of the main temples on the main land. These are really different to the others temples we have seen in Thailand as they are more like old ruins and have a lot more character then the shiny gold temples we have seen (you will be able to see all this from the pictures). From here we are heading to the border to cross into Cambodia so lots more old temples to see in Angor Wat. We are very excited about Angor Wat as it is the largest religious grounds in the WORLD! Look forward to all the pictures as there probably will be a lot!!x
