Another early start this morning but we only had to walk across the road. We were booked on the Gordon River Cruise. This river is famous for its still waters and magnificent reflections.
Our vessel was a very upmarket catamaran style boat, it was only 7 months old and was very swish. Again it was a non stop food fest, but hey you only pass this way once. May need a double seat on the plane home after all this indulgence.
We were booked on Premier class and on the top deck with very comfortable white leather seats which were angled so everyone got a good view.
This area was not only a place for viewing the lovely river it was also where the first convicts came before they opened Port Arthur where we were earlier in the holiday. We stopped off twice. Once in the rainforest where we had a walk through very ancient trees as shown in the picture, and the second stop was at the original penal Colony where were heard some gruesome tales.
We were promised a good sunset tonight but it didn’t really happen. Pete and I went to a little outdoor theatre production all about a group of convicts that escaped to Chile in a boat they built for a Scottish boat builder. It was hilarious with lots of audience participation but only 3 cast members.
What a good day
