Friday was Natalie's last day so we decided to have breakfast at the Friday market in the park. Countless food stalls to choose from, all selling much the same thing. We first grabbed a fresh fruit juice, not actually sure what mine was, and selected a food stall that seemed to have the most customers. The ordering process was a little confusing. Most people were opting for tacos and were paying up front but we wanted burritos. So we were pointed to the other end where we placed our order. We stood and watched as our burritos were made and handed to us. We found a seat and started eating but still hadn't paid. They burritos were very good. When we finished eating we looked at the cashier near us who casually asked for 100 pesos and that was that. A genuine honour system. I headed off to the centre. Not many kids were there. A game of cards with little Javier, a few photos and off to the park for about half an hour. Got back to the centre and there were some kids waiting for their photos. Soon after my new helper arrived, Mckaylie from Iowa. We soon had a system going and by about 3.30 we had photographed 26 kids. Doesn't sound much but by the time you get them to write their name, age and favourite colour on a piece of paper and then take 4 photos, each in a different pose, time soon goes by. Had a farewell dinner with Natalie that night and had to delay our walk home due to a massive rain storm. Got to the centre about 10 on Saturday. There were already kids waiting for their photos. By about 1.30 Mckaylie and I had done another 29 kids. Pleased with the progress and really enjoying what we are doing. After dinner headed into the town centre. It seems like Saturday night is a very social night. Lots of young people and family groups simply strolling the streets or sitting around in groups talking. A very relaxed environment. And I found an Irish pub. Still not sure what actually makes a pub an "Irish" pub. Is it the plethora of TV's all showing the same soccer match and a huge assortment of memorabilia adorning the walls. Must go to Ireland one day to find out. I only have 2 weekends left in Oaxaca so I spent Sunday morning planning how to use them. Contacted a few tour companies who run hiking tours and visits to indigenous villages. Hopefully they have something going on the dates I have available. Headed into town for lunch and ended up at the zocalo where the usual Sunday entertainment was in full swing. A full band with a very good soloist on one side and a performance of traditional dancing on the other side. The locals really support these activities. And who can blame them. Good quality, free entertainment in a place which is relaxing to be in and great for families. A really good way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Sarah Sounds like you're having a great time Doug. Things seemed to have picked up after the first couple of weeks.
