ITALY - DAY 17 This morning we rushed around trying desperately trying to get our clothes washed and dried before being driven to our hotel on the other side of Rome. After checking in we headed back out towards the Bocca della Verita (The Face of Truth). ITALY - DAY 16 Left Florence this morning and headed into Siena for the morning. This is where they hold a horse race every year with a representative from each district. The men have to ride their horse around a circuit three times and stay on and finish first. The horse is then treasured and a huge feast is held in its honor. We climbed the city tower. ITALY - DAY 15 We headed into Florence today to see Michelangelo's "David" among other fabulous works. It was amazing. To think that he was able to carve it from marble in 18 months without a model was incredible. The man was an absolute genius, even if he wasn't a very nice man. ITALY - DAY 14 We left the outskirts and then some of Milan and headed for Pisa. Here we boarded a mini train (the ones that travel on the road) and were transported into Pisa. They use these as no cars or other vehicles are allowed in the city centre to help preserve the buildings etc. I think this a brilliant idea as the buildings were clean and you didn't hear the constant beeping of horns etc. We wander down following the city wall and then entered throug...
