ITALY - DAY 14
We left the outskirts and then some of Milan and headed for Pisa. Here we boarded a mini train (the ones that travel on the road) and were transported into Pisa. They use these as no cars or other vehicles are allowed in the city centre to help preserve the buildings etc. I think this a brilliant idea as the buildings were clean and you didn't hear the constant beeping of horns etc.
We wander down following the city wall and then entered through an arch to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa along with all the other buildings within the centre. Talk about breathe taking. Of course we did all the cliché pictures before getting closer. We weren't able to climb the tower as the girls had to be over eight so we went into the Dom instead.
It was a stinking hot day with very little breeze. We would have loved to wander around longer but we were too hot so we headed for the cool of a restaurant and sat for lunch. It was back on the bus to continue to Florence. Again we were out in the sticks. This time we were near the airport.
