The train ride from Venice to Florence was 2.5 hours really great ride, smooth and fast we reached up to 300km/hr during certain times of travel. Mostly countryside travel with 3 stops before Florence. The train station was crazy busy and this time we took a taxi with our luggage, thank goodness, there were so many people it would of taken us a bit of time, a very short ride and we were dropped at our next apartment and what a location we are right on the Piazza della Signoria right next to the Uffizi Gallery and the Duomo (cathedral). Amazing location, short walk to everything. A large two bedroom on the third floor, at least there is a lift for the luggage, very spacious and quiet at night to sleep as we are on the back of the building not on the front where the piazza is. Piazza della Signoria is counted among the most splendid and famous squares in Italy and was built in the middle ages. The giant statue of Neptune, the god of the sea in front of the fountain an inscription in a stone in the pavement marks the spot of the execution of the monk Girolamo Savonarola and his two Dominican disciples May 1498.
