...Yoga & meditation class in the jungle. Foot & head massage. Sanctuary: Film & Pina Coladas...
Woke up this morning quite early and it was lovely to be surrounded by nature. Headed down to the beach for a while before the yoga and meditation class. The yoga class was really good and I felt really nicely relaxed and centred after it. Was brilliant doing it in a hall in the middle of the jungle as it was really atmospheric and the noises from the creatures really set the mood.
Spent the afternoon sunning myself then Susan, Madeleine and me headed into Haad Rin for some massages and dinner. I had a brilliant foot and head massage that really helped my battered leg. We all had a lovely relaxed dinner and then headed back to Haad Thien.
Back at the Sanctuary watched this really interesting film on life and society whilst laying in a hammock sipping Pina Coladas. Was wonderful hearing the waves and seeing the moon's reflection glistening on the sea whilst watching the film. It was more of a documentary discussing life, the world, race, religion and society as a whole. Really gave me some perspective on my trip.
One of the issues discussed was time and how as a culture we now want everything straight away, instant gratification, and that we only focus on the short term and not the overall picture. It made me realise that although I'm missing my friends and family a year out of my life travelling is nothing and before I know it I'll be see them again. I just wish they could be here experiencing all these things with me. I hope with my photos and blog entries I can share all this with them.
