Didier Moutia's Travels
Today was not an early start unlike yesterday. We picked up the campervan about 10 o'clock.
Our camper is a big cool van that can sleep 6 people in it. There is a ladder to get to the top beds. There is heaps of room. There is a satellite TV and also a shower and toilet. It pretty much has everything. (Dad note, the campervan even has its own wifi but the kids do not know or they would be begging me to play League of Legends and use all the data).
We left Alice mid-morning. It took a while to get to Uluru …. About 5 hours. It was bumpy but dad liked it because he got 10,000 extra steps on his fitbit doing nothing. On the way we got to see the Cannonball Memorial, the place where a driver was sadly killed. We came across a road train at Stuart Roadhouse. This truck was huge, it had three large trailers. We saw another few road trains on the trip. We are hoping to see more!
Soon we got to Mount Ebenezer Roadhouse for a break and some fuel. It looked very different from inside the roadside to outside. Inside there was a large shop and cool restaurant with even a fake camel. Dad was just glad to get a coffee.
Not far from Uluru we saw a large rock and we thought it was Uluru but it was not. It was still pretty cool. When we finally saw Uluru it was gigantic.
Late afternoon we did our first tour to the Olgas. We only made the tour with only a few minutes spare. We saw the sunset at the Olgas, we saw it change colours. The flies were annoying and there were lots of them! Dad and Mum had a great time taking lots of photos and enjoying champagne.
Now we are back at our camp site, watching TV and eating dinner. It has been an awesome day.
