Didier Moutia's Travels
We woke up mega early. Sadly our Sunrise Tour bus did not show up! However we did our own tour and drove to the sunrise area in our Campervan.
Sunrise at Uluru is beautiful. We took a lot … a lot of photos. There were some strange people at the Sunrise area. Our favourite was an Asian tourist who decided to get up on a railing and get in everyone's photo. Dad yelled out to him "… can I have your name? I want to tag you in my photos on Facebook". Everybody laughed. Another old guy was taking photos of the crowds, and dad yelled out “It is behind you!”
Before the sunrise, Uluru was dark brown and “ominous”. When the sun shine beamed onto Uluru it became a bright reddish/brown. It was cool.
Dad suggested we should do the Uluru Base Walk. It won’t take long he said … It would be fun he said. Olivier said it was fun for the first hour. For me it was fun until we realised we had only walked one quarter of the way. Loic loved it, when we finally got back to the campervan he said “The aborigines can keep Uluru all to themselves, I don’t care about that rock anymore”. Although it was a long walk it was fun. We saw lots of 'faces’ in the rock. We saw Darth Vader, a Pug although I thought that rock looked like a piglet from Angry Birds, we also saw an aboriginal head and I saw a half alien face.
After a long walk we could not wait to get back to the resort pool. Going for a swim after each day has become our family tradition while on holiday. The pool was cold … mum said “how can a pool be so cold in the desert?” We were having a great swim when we were shocked to see a woman come into the pool with no top on. Dad said that this was the most dangerous animal in the Territory and it is called a white pointer. I have no idea what he is talking about! Mum says it’s a dads joke.
We did have some excitement this afternoon, we saw a Dingo. Dad at first thought it was just a dog but quickly realised what it was. It quickly left our campervan and returned to the bushes.
A great day was topped off by a great night. We did the Astro Tour. Olivier thought it was amazing, the astronomers using telescopes pointed out the Southern Cross, nebulus, rainbow star, dust in space, galaxies and even Jupiter. We could see the Jupiter rings and 3 moons.

Christine Hilarious!! I can't wait for the next installment! lol
Annette Sounds like you had a awesome day all up. If you get a chance to go to Herman's berg mission its a great place to visit only extensible via a special four wheel drive. But when I went there in 1996 with my family these aboriginal kids locked me and my brothers in this building and ran off and our tourist operator found us.
