Accomodation at the Fjordland Lodge just outside Te Anau is absolutely amazing... That is where we arrived after an early but cool morning of horse riding. Now staying in a cool log cabin overlooking the lake and mounts... Bet you can't wait to see the photos!!! ;-)

We are thankful to report that we have NOT been affected by this afternoon's 6.3 earthquake that has hit Christchurch pretty hard... We are sufficiently far away and the other side of the hills! Wind and rain... This morning's weather wasn't much better and so another pass on kayaking on Lake Wanaka. Today is a Wanaka day. This morning we were hoping to take kayaks out on the big lake (by the way did you know it is something like 311m deep and about 192sq km???) - unfortunately the clouds were coming in, and the wind was steadily picking up so we ended up calling that off.
